Fifteen Years Ago today, May 1, 1993, I entered the Almaty airport and was greeted by my immediate boss, Bill Perry from Peace Corps. That was a long time ago and much has happened since then. I’ve been on an exciting ride ever since I met my husband when I was at church the next day, on May 2nd. I think he will take me out to celebrate how we are both seeking to DO our Shepherd’s will. Where will the next 15 years lead us? A poem from Streams in the Desert shows where our faith should be placed:
“The Shepherd does not ask of thee
Faith in thy faith, but only faith in Him:
And this He meant in saying, ‘Come to me.’
In light or darkness seek to do His will,
And leave the work of faith to Jesus still.”
