L.L.D. thanks so much for writing about Annie Johnson Flint. It makes me want to find out more about her life and how she was able to witness in her words despite the pain she went through. Appreciate your comment very much!

ALWAYS LEAVE THE JUDGING UP TO GOD AND LISTEN TO THE HOLY SPIRIT. ALL THE ERRORS ARE SATAN'S NOT GODS IT DOES NOT STOP HIM FROM FIND SOMETHING GOOD IN IT. EVEN USING IT TO DO GREAT THINGS AND HELPING PEOPLE SEE THING CLEARER.
VERY GOOD WRITE AND VERY INTERESTING WAY OF SEEING THINGS. LET THE SPIRIT LEAD YOUR WORDS AND YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND YOUR ANSWERS YOU SEARCH FOR, L.L.

Got a response from a very active member of Chess.com and he said that the legends of chess are well known among most chess enthusiasts. However, the date is off by 1,000 years. It should read 500 A.D. and not 500 B.C. I should write to the author of the TOEFL textbook to correct that mistake of being a millenium off!!!

Princess of Snow, thanks for your comment! Now we wish we would have asked our Ukrainian students the same question about what life was like during this era just before Perestroika. Maybe Ukraine had it easier than Kazakhstan at the end of the 1980s and early 1990s. I know for sure that Ukraine had it MUCH worse in the 1930s and during WWII and certainly afterwards. Yes, I'm finding out a LOT from Ken's Kazakh students about life in Kazakhstan.
